Most helpful customer reviews 62 of 66 people found the following review helpful. Great TV for the Price! Very Happpy! By M. Barnes I received the KDL-52W5100 about 2 weeks ago. It replaced a KDL-52V5100 that I got in March, which replaced an older Sony Hi-Def LCD rear projection 1080i model (KDF-60XS955). The KDL-52V5100 was great at first, but it had a very annoying dimming problem that Sony eventually fixed with a firmware update. The problem was that the firmware update then broke the audio for me. The audio would cut out a few times a night on all HDMI inputs. Tried new cables, new Dish receiver, everything. They finally, after weeks of fighting with them, sent me another KDL-52V5100 which then had the same problem. Sony was very good about taking care of me with these issues, once I got a hold of the right person. Before that, they give you the run around and are willing to let your brand new TV sit in a repair shop for weeks while you wait for it. I will be keeping the contact names/numbers/email addresses for future reference. It's amazing how fast your problems get addressed when you email the Vice President of customer service for North America directly at his actual personal email address! :-) They finally, just 2 weeks ago replaced it with this TV. The KDL-52V5100 had a great picture (when I wasn't having problems with it) but this TV performs very noticeably better! I have used it with an XBOX360, a PS3 and with Dish Network Hi-Def receiver/DVR. The standard def is better than most of the other LCD's I looked at but as with all you can see the flaws of the SD picture. This one looks better than most for SD though. It also doesn't have the HDMI color space issue that the KDL-52V5100 had with my XBOX360. I have it set to Y'CbCr and it looks AMAZING! The PS3 also looks INCREDIBLE! This TV had all the features I wanted and has delivered higher performance and picture than expected. This TV does have noticeably better picture quality than the V series. The contrast is better (possible due to the Bravia 3 engine as opposed to the Bravia 2 engine in the V series) and there are more advanced features for scene selection and other video options. Plus the Xross media bar menu system is WAY better than the plain generic menu in the V series. It looks to be more customizable. The internet connection, DLNA and widgets are just a bonus for me. When I received it, it already needed a firmware upgrade which very conveniently upgraded right over the internet rather than having to use a flash drive. Because of that I can't comment on issues with the old firmware. The stand is average size but I wish it swiveled. The TV is not too heavy. The appearance is very sleek, it appears less clunky than the heavier V series and I like the option to have the Sony logo glow. It's pretty cool. The one thing I was worried about was the fact that it has an 8-bit LCD panel, rather than a 10-bit panel. I was really worried it would have banding or "paint by number" effects. I picked up a copy of Digital Video Essentials (DVE) HD Basics on Blu-Ray to calibrate the TV and to my surprise it included a test for checking for slow processing and for color banding "paint by number" effects. This TV was able to reproduce a perfect gradation in both color and gray scale with ABSOLUTELY no banding or "paint by number" effects whatsoever! I was really impressed. According to DVE an 8-bit panel should be able to do this as long as the processing board is fast enough and good enough quality. These problems are more due to the processing than an 8-bit panel according to DVE. The 10-bit is not necessary if you have adequate processing. After more research I have found that, that is why most higher end manufacturers, like Sony have started using 8-bit panels again in most but their very high end models. After calibrating this TV with DVE the picture is far better than I had ever hoped for, with great black levels and extremely vibrant, true to life color. The off

Miller I tested this TV at an in-store display to determine if it suffers a similar ghosting problem I have with another Sony TV - KDL-26L5000. Sadly it does. I tested with a few pre-recorded scenes known to illustrate the problem on the KDL-26L5000. The odd ghosting problem is not the typical motion blur noticeable on fast moving objects. This ghosting manifests as a streaking or shadow movement. Most often it seems to affect facial features such as lips and around the eyes which seem to float off people's faces as they move from side to side. The effect is dependent on the scene being viewed - lighting, motion etc - typically occurring in dark scenes or scenes with areas of highly contrasting light and dark areas. Happily the KDL-32EX400 does not suffer from this problem. If you consider yourself a critical TV viewer, consider spending a little more to avoid this sort of annoying problem. I purchased this model for a very small game room. The sharpness of the picture was my top priority because we are sitting so close to it. Pros: Good cable TV quality, Sound isn't too bad, the design is really sleek and nice looking, still picture quality is good. BIG CON: Basically you can't watch anything too dark on HD programs or ghost trails will manifest behind moving objects. I had my 360 hooked up and character's heads would look like shooting stars when they would move across the in game environment. Like other reviewers have stated, actor's facial features appear to be floating on their faces. I was EXTEREMLY irritated by this. Although the documentation claims it supports this set, the mounting screws for the set are supposed to be 16mm long and the mount ships with 25mm screws, which bottom out when you try to secure the mounting hardware to the set. A trip to Home Depot solved that problem, but that shouldn't be required. In addition, the wall mount bracket comes with a built-in level. Sounds good, but THE LEVEL IS OUT OF TRUE, so if you rely on it, you'll have a set tilting one way or the other. Finally, the lack of fine tuning adjustment means that you can't adjust for small discrepancies. Set is up and level (using shims) but it has to be lifted off the wall by two people to adjust cabling. Stay away. See all 1 customer reviews...

Model MP860B is one of the strongest mounts on the market today. It has easy to follow instructions with a Durable Powder Coated Finish. The color for this mount is Black VESA 850 compatible Solid Steel Arms Strongest on the Market Unlike the other mounts online this is made from heavy gauge steel on wont warp when fully extended. Will this mount fit my TV? First, check the weight of your TV. It must be less than 200 lbs. Second, look at the back panel of your TV. If your TV has 4 holes or 6 holes on the back of the screen, measure the vertical and horizontal distance between the holes. If the vertical distance is within 23.6 inch, horizontal distance is within 33.5 inch, then this bracket will fit. Finally, the width of your TV should be 37" or above, otherwise the mount is too wide to hide behind your TV. If you are not sure whether this fits your TV , please contact us, we will check for you. This mount is VideoSecu brand. Please report to Amazon if the product you received do not bear VideoSecu logo.

It is extremely heavy weight - probably much more than I needed, but I wanted (and needed) the lenght of the extension arms. My TV is near a corner and I needed to pull the TV out and angle it 45 degrees to the room. This arm works great for that purpose. The mounting brackets on the arm for the TV were too wide and I was faced with either sending it back or cutting the brackets down to size. I chose the latter. It was pretty easy to do with a hack saw blade in my jig saw. I had to mount the arm with only 1/4 of tolerance in a built in cabinet. The universal mounting slot did not line up on the studs and I had to drill some new mounting holes into the metal bracket - but that was not too difficult. The final product is excellent. Here's an attractive, durable and versatile mount for your flat panel display. The tilt and slide mechanism with screw and lever locks. The device is recommended for screens up to 37" and 66 lbs. The mount is made from steel and has a nice powder coat finish. The mount allows you to tilt the display up and down about 35 degrees off center max. You can swivel it side to side up to 50 degrees off center max. And, it will retract down to a depth of 3.25" when parallel and even to the wall and extend out to a maximum of about 5.75". It will support any display within the weight limit that has a VESA 75, 100, 200 or 200x100 compliant mounting pattern. (Vesa 75 is a square hole pattern where each hole is about 3" apart vertically and horizontally. Vesa 100 has holes that are about 4" apart. Vesa 200 are about 8" apart. Vesa 200x100 are about 8" apart horizontally and 4" apart vertically)
